Q. Can you provide a written contract if i book you and testimonials from previous clients?

Rob Lees feels that it is very important to have all bookings confirmed in writing. All terms of the agreement on all bookings with Rob Lees Disco is in writing to avoid any complications at a later date. We feel that testimonials are an important part of our business, as to all and as an experienced and professional DJ, Rob is able to provide his clients with current names and contacts of satisfied clients.

When booking Rob Lees, a confirmation/contract is sent which contains full terms & conditions. Some recent testimonials are shown on our website, or by clicking here.

Q. Do you use professional equipment?

There is a big difference between the audio equipment that you have at home and the equipment that a professional DJ like Rob Lees uses. Professional audio equipment is built to go on the road day in and day out. Rob Lees will only use the best professional equipment on the market to ensure the music sounds as good as possible for all of your guest's enjoyment. The lighting that we use is second to none, and we only use the best from the main manufacturer, Martin

All of the equipment used by Rob Lees Disco is state of the art professional DJ equipment, which is regular serviced by authorised engineers and all of our electrical equipment is Portable Appliance Tested every year.

Can you provide backup equipment and personnel in case of emergency?

Rob Lees carries spare equipment to every function incase of the very rare event of equipment failure. Rob has regular contacts with other DJ's and in the very unlikely scenario of illness, he will be able to provide an experienced professional replacement DJ. Rob has however never had to do this, and has a 100% performance rate.

Q. Will you be suitably dressed for the occasion?

Rob understands that it is very important that the DJ looks the part by dressing in formal or semiformal attire. Rob dresses in a full suit on every wedding that he performs at. He always dresses in smart trousers & shirt for other functions. Please feel free to specify the type of apparel that Rob should use at your function. Rob has no added fee for formal attire, as this is part of his service.

Q. Do you know the proper procedure and etiquette for the type of wedding?

Rob is a highly respected professional DJ, and will be prepared to handle all announcements and special events during your wedding entertainment. On average, he performs at 70 weddings per year.

Q. Are you registered and insured, and is your equipment tested regularly?

Rob Lees is a professional DJ and business man. Rob ensures that he has adequate Public Liability Insurance (PLI) and regularly has all of his electrical equipment tested to ensure that he complies with the standards required for Portable Appliance Testing (PAT). He carries full Public Liability Insurance, covering him for £5 Million, and has a full CRB Check.

Q. Will you arrive on time?

Rob Lees knows that punctuality is an ultimate necessity, and as a professional, he is thoroughly aware of his responsibilities to his clients. The normal time spent setting up and removing equipment is never a part of the entertainment fee, unlike other DJ's out there. The setup time depends on the package chosen, but generally we arrive on site 1.5hrs prior. Rob is extremely punctual and ensures that he has the correct venue details & address at the time of booking. All venue address & contact details will be on the confirmation in advance.

Q. Will it be you that does the show and not somebody else?

Rob Lees does not act as an agency. He is the only DJ and he will be who you get on the night!

Q. Are you willing to discuss musical selections ahead of time, and be willing to play requests, particularly if they are suitable for dancing?

As a professional DJ, Rob is very aware that he cannot possibly know everything there is to know about your musical preferences and your entertainment needs. Rob is more than willing to listen to your ideas and suggestions, and is always happy to meet before hand. Rob will never play the songs that you have asked him not to play. Special requests are never a problem and your Rob is always willing to play them when appropriate.

Unfortunately it is not possible for Rob to have every song. However, Rob sends out a music request for before hand, which will enable him to purchase the music if he doesn't already own it.

People often request songs that do not "fit-in" with the music programming. Some may request inappropriate songs. Rob is a highly Professional entertainer and he knows when it is acceptable to honor requests.

Q. How much music do you bring?

Some DJ services brag about a huge music library. Rob knows of some DJ's that brag about having 100,000 songs. Maybe so, but their music collection is most probably illegally downloaded. Every song in our database is owned on original CD, and we generally bring 20-30,000 songs on the night. Rob does have a vast range of music covering almost every era. If you request a song that Rob is unable to locate before hand, then you are more than welcome to supply this on a CD.

Q. Will you provide us with a music guide or list to assist us?

Yes. Ron encourages you to invite him to meet up with you before hand, to discuss your music requirements etc. You can also choose that colour lighting that you would like for your first dance! Rob takes the time to find out your musical tastes and is always open to your needs. By the same token, Rob is a very experienced DJ and also knows what works and what does not work. He encourages you to listen to his friendly advice before hand, to ensure that the night goes as perfect as you've always dreamt.

Q. Will you play cheesy songs such as the Birdie Dance & Agadoo all night?

The stereotypical image of a wedding disco in the UK is of a guy that will only play the very cheesy hits all night long. Rob is a highly experienced DJ, and he ensures not to be playing that style of music all night! Rob also finds that a lot of Brides & Grooms are requesting not to play Agadoo! Rob is the complete opposite of the stereotypical DJ, and he knows what music is appropriate for the event.

Q. Will the music be too loud?

The music volume should be kept at an appropriate level so it doesn't "interfere" with the event. Throughout all segments of the reception, cocktail hour, dinner and dancing, the music should add to, or help create the proper atmosphere. During dinner the music should be loud enough to fill in any "dead" air that may occur while people are enjoying their meal. The music level shouldn't be so loud that it is distracting when you are engaged in conversation. As the event progresses towards the dancing portion of the event Rob will increase the volume. The increase is mainly concentrated on the dance floor, and our sound systems are always placed in the correct manor. This adds to the overall excitement of the party. Rob will always work to your preference.
